Richard de Stanhope died during his mayoralty, and his account as Escheator was rendered, up to the feast of S. Lawrence (10 August) by Thomas de Moderby, executor, and Alice his widow, executrix. The names for 1379 in the old lists evidently belong to this year. Cal. Close, 1377-81, p. 170.
