Feftivals and Fafts of the CHURCH.

For the Annunciation of the bleed Virgin Mary, March 25. Befeech thee, O Lod, pour thy Grace into my Heart,

that as I have known the Incarnation of thy Son Jefus Chrift, by the Meffage of an Angel; fo by his Crofs and Paffion I may be brought unto the Glory of his Refurrection, through the fame Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

II. For Christmas Day: Or, Birth-Day of our Saviour Chrift, Decemb. 25.

God, haft

gotten Son, to take our Nature upon him, and as at this Time to be born of a pure Virgin; grant that I being regenerate, and made thy Child by Adop tion and Grace, may daily be renewed by thy Holy Spirit, thro' the fame our Lord Jefus Chrift, who li veth and reigneth with Thee, and the fame Spirity ever one God World without End. Amen.

III. A Prayer for New-Year's-Day, January 1.

Almighty God, who madeft thy bleffed-Son to be

circumcifed, and obedient to the Law for Mans grant me the true Circumcifion of the Spirit, that my

Heart and all my Members, being mortified from all worldly and carnal Lufts, I may in all Things obey thy bleffed Will, thro' the fame thy Son Jefus Chrift bur Lord. Amen.

IV. A Prayer for the Day of the Epiphany, January 6.

God, who by the leading of a Star, didft manifeft thy only begotten Son to the Gentiles; mercifully grant that I who know thee now by Faith, may after this Life, have the Fruition of thy glorious Godhead, thro' Jefus Christ our Lord. Amen.

V. A Prayer for the Day of the Prefentation of Chrift in the Temple, Feb. 2.

Lmighty and everlasting God, I humbly befecch thy Majefty, that as thy only begotten Son was this Day prefented in the Temple in Subftance of our Flesh; fo I may be prefented unto thee, with a pure and clean Heart, by the fame thy Son Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

VI. Prayers for Ah-Wednesday, and the Season of Lent.

Lmighty and everlasting God, who hateft nothing that thou haft made, and doft forgive the Sins of all them that are penitent, create and make in me a new and contrite Heart, that I worthily lamenting my Sins, and acknowledging my Wretchednefs, may obtain of thee, the God of all Mercy, perfect Remiffion and Forgiveness, thro' Jefus Christ our Lord. Amer

Lord, who for our Sake, didft faft forty Days and forty Nights; give me Grace to use fuch Aottinence, that my Flefh being fubdued to the Spirit, I may ever obey thy godly Motions in Righteoufnels and true Holiness; to thy Honour and Glory,

VII. A Prayer for Good-Friday, the Day of our
Saviour's Crucifixion.

Almighty and everlasting God, who of thy tender

Love towards Mankind, haft fent thy Son our Saviour Jefus Chrift, to take upon him our Flesh and to fuffer Death upon the Crofs, that all Mankind fhould follow the Example of his great Humility: Mercifully grant that I may both follow the Example: of his Patience, and also be made Partaker of his Re-> furrection, through the fame Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

VIII. A Prayer for Easter-Eve.

Rant, O Lord, that as I am baptized into the Death of thy bleffed Son, our Saviour Jefus Chrift, fo by continual mortifying my corrupt Affec tions, I may be buried with him, and that thro' the Grave and Gate of Death, I may pafs to a joyful Refurrection, for his Merits who died and was buried, and rofe again for us, thy Son Jefus Christ our Lord,

Amen.

A Prayer for Eafter-Day, the great Festival of our Lord and Saviour's Refurrection from the Dead.

Almighty Father, wha haft given thine only Son

to die for our Sins, and to rife again for our Juftification; grant me fo to put away the Leaven of Malice and Wickedness, that may always ferve thee in Pureness of Living and Truth, thro' the Merits of the fame thy Son Jefus Chrift, our Lord. Amen.

Rant, I befeech thee, Almighty God, that like as I do believe thy only begotten Son, our Lord Jefus Chrift, to have afcended into the Heavens; fo

may also in Heart and Mind thither ascend, and with him continually dwell, who liveth and reigneth with 'I hee and the Holy Ghoft, one God, World without End. Amen.

X. A Prayer for Whit-Sunday.

God, who as at phos T, me did reach the Hearte of thy faithful People, by fending to them the Light of thy Holy Spirit; grant me by the fame Spirit to have a right Judgment in all Things, and ever more to rejoice in his holy Comfort, thro' the Merits of Chrift Jefus our Saviour, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the Unity of the fame Spirit, one God, World without End. Amen.

XI. A Prayer for Trinity-Sunday.

Trinity, three perfons and one God, have Mercy upon me a miferable

Almighty and everlafting God, who haft given unto thy Servants Grace, by the Confeffion of a true Faith to acknowledge the Glory of the Eternal Trinity, and in the Power of the Divine Majefty to worship the Unity; I beseech thee, that thou wouldft keep me ftedfaft in this Faith, and evermore defend me from all Adverfities, who liveft and reigneft one God, World without End. Amen.

Our Father, which art in Heaven, &c.

The Lord bless me and keep me; the Lord make his Face to fhine upon me, and be gracious unto me; the Lord lift up his Countenance upon me, and give me Peace now and for evermore, Amen.
