BELGIUM'S NEW WAR DECORATION-THE QUEEN ELIZABETH MEDAL The new medal, it is announced, is to be conferred without any distinction as to the nationality of the recipient. "It was proper," the announcement reads, "that as Belgians, should receive a public token of the national gratitude." the noble devotedness, the constant and discreet sacrifices shown in various war relief work should not sink into oblivion; and charitable people, foreigners as well The decoration was designed by Victor Rousseau. On one side it bears the effigy of the Queen, with the words, "Elizabeth, Queen of the Belgians;" on the reverse is the figure of a nurse as an emblem of charity
