PROSPECTUS.-SESSION 1872-3.

1. The Evening Session will commence with an introductory address, open to the public, on the 9th October, 1872, at 7.30 p.m., and terminate on the 8th April, 1873, on which day prizes and certificates will be awarded on the results of the sessional examinations. In some of the classes a supplementary session will be held from the 28th April to the 30th May. There is a vacation at Christmas from the 21st December to the 6th January, inclusive.

2. New Students (only) will be admitted by the Principal at the close of the public meeting on Wednesday the 9th, and on Thursday and Friday the 10th and 11th October, from 6.30 to 9 p.m. Each new student will be required to produce a letter of recommendation from his employers, or such other testimonial as may be approved.

Former Students can re-enter with the Registrar on Monday and Tuesday the 14th and 15th October, from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. After the above dates students can only be entered between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Saturdays excepted; but former students may re-enter with the Assistant Librarian on any Library evening.

After the month of November any person desiring to enter a class must apply personally, or by letter, to the Lecturer and obtain his consent before he can be admitted.

3. The Regular Courses, consisting of twenty lectures each, commence on the 14th October, and terminate on the 21st March.

Supplementary Courses of five lectures each, commencing on the 28th April, and terminating on the 30th May, will be given (without additional fee) in the Greek, Latin, French, German, and Chemistry Laboratory Classes.

4. The Fees (to be paid on entrance) are as follow:

of all the necessary apparatus and chemicals) 4 4 0 5. The first lecture will be given in each class whatever the number of students may be who have entered it; but unless ten persons at least shall have entered before, or on, the second evening of meeting, the class will not be held, except at the desire of the Lecturer.

6. Intermediate examinations will be held in some of the classes at the commencement of the Lent Term; and sessional examinations at the end of all the courses. On the results of the latter Prizes and Certificates of Honour will be awarded. The Public Distribution of Prizes will take place on Tuesday the 8th April, at 7.30 p.m.

7. The Library of the College is open to all Evening Students, without additional fee, from 6.30 to 9 p.m., on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, until the termination of the Regular courses, and on Mondays and Wednesdays during the continuance of the Supplementary courses. Books are not to be taken out of the Library, and application must be made to the Assistant Librarian for those required for use in the Library. Works of reference are kept apart and can be taken from the shelves by the students. Conversation and reading aloud are prohibited in the Library.

8. The Courses of Instruction for this Session will comprise the following:

will also be set during the Michaelmas Term in

students preparing for the Matriculation examination
in January, 1873. (Macmichael's or Dindorf's edi-

This class is open, free of fee, to all students who have sufficient knowledge of Greek to profit by the course of reading pursued.

ceutical examinations.

Livy, Book XXXIX. (Weissenborn's Text, with or without German notes, in the Teubner series.) Bradley's Lessons in Latin Prose. Papers will also be set in Vergil, Georgics, Book II. and Eneid, Book XII.* for the guidance of students preparing for the Matriculation examination in January, 1873.
