un'to you. 21 Howbe'it this kind go'eth not out but by pra'yer and fast'ing.

22 And, while they abo'de in Galilee, Je'sus said un'to them, The Son of man shall be betra'yed in'to the hands of mẹn ; And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be ra'ised again'. And they were exce'eding sorʻry.

24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received trib’ute-'mon'ey' came to Pe'ter, and said, Doth not your Mas'ter pay trib'ute? 25 He sa'ith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Je'sus preven'ted him, sa'ying, What think'est thou, Si'mon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or trib'ute? of their o'wn children, or of stra'ngers? 26 Pe'ter sa'ith un'to him, Of strangers. Je'sus sa'ith un'to him, Then are the children fre'e. 27 Notwithstan'ding, lest we should offend' them, go thou to the se'a, and cast' a hook', and take up the fish that first com'eth up; and when thou hast o'pened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money that take, and give un'to them for me and thee.

CHAP. XVIII. At the same time came the disciples un'to Je'sus, sa'ying, Who is the grea'test in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Je'sus called a little child un'to him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Ver'ily I say un'to you, Except ye be conver'ted, and become as little children, ye shall not en'ter in'to the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever ther'efore shall humble himself' as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And wh'oso shall receive one such little child in my namẹ rece'iveth me. 6 But wh'oso shall offend' one of these little ones which belie've in me, it were bet'ter for him that a mill'stone were hanged about' his neck, and that' he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe un'to the world because of offen'ces! for it must ne'eds be that offen'ces come; but woe to that man by whom the offence com'eth! 8 Whe'refore, if thy hand or thy foot' offend' thee, cut them off, and cast' 'them' from thee it is better for thee to en'ter in'to life ha'lt or ma'imed, rath'er than having two hands or two feet to be cast' in'to everlasting fire. 9 And if thine eye offend' thee, pluck it out, and cast' 'it' from thee: it is bet'ter for thee to en'ter in'to life with one eye, rath'er than having two eyes to be cast' in'to hell-fire.

10 Take he'ed that ye despi'se not one of these little ones: for I say un'to you, That in heaven their angels do a'lways

behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man is come to sa've that which was lost. 12 How think ye? If a man have an hun'dred she'ẹp, and one of them be gone astra'y, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go'eth in'to the moun'tains, and se'eketh that which is gone astra'y? 13 And if so be that he find it, ver'ily I say un'to you, He rejoic'eth more of that 'she'ẹp,' than of the ni'nety and nine which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

15 Moreover, if thy broth'er shall tres pass against thee, go and tell him his fa'ult betwe'en thee and him alo'ne: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy broth'er. 16 But if he will not hear thee, then' take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or thre'e wit'nesses every word may be established. 17 And if he shall neglect to he'ar them, tell 'it' un'to the church: but if he neglect' to he'ar the church, let him be un'to thee as an he'athen man and a publican. 18 Ver'ily I say un'to you, Whatsoever ye shall bi'nd on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoev'er ye shall lo'ose on earth shall be lo'osed in heaven. 19 Again' I say un'to you, That if two of you shall agre'e on earth as touch'ing an'y thing that they shall ask', it shall be done for them of my Fa'ther which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered togeth'er in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

21 Then came Pe'ter to him, and said, Lo'rd, how oft shall my broth'er sin against' me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Je'ṣus saith un'to him, I say not un'to thee, Until seven times; but, Until' seventy times seven. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened un'to a certain king, which would take account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought un'to him which o'wed him ten thou'sand talents: 25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lo'rd command'ed him to be sold, and his wife and chil'dren, and a'll that he had, and payment to be made. 26 The servant ther'efore fell down and worshipped him, sa'ying, Lo'rd, have pa'tience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 Then the Lo'rd of that servant was' moved with compass'ion, and lo'osed him, and forgave him the debt. 28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow-ser'vants, which o'wed him an hundred pence: and he la'id hands on him, and

took' 'him' by the thro'at, sa'ying, Pay me that thou o'west. 29 And his fellow-ser'vant fell down at his feet, and beso'ught him, sa'ying, Have pa'tience with me, and I will pay thee a'll. 30 And he would not; but went and cast' him in'to prison, till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were ver'y sorry, and came and told un'to their lo'rd a'll that was done. 32 Then his lord, af'ter that he had called him, said un'to him, O thou wick'ed servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desi'redst me: 33 Shouldest not thou also have had compass'ion on thy fel'low-servant, e'ven as I had pity on thee? 34 And his lo'rd was wroth', and delivered him to the tormen'tors, till he should pay a'll that was due un'to him. 35 So likewise shall my heav'enly Father do also un'to you, if ye from your hearts forgiv'e not every one his broth'er their tres'passes.

CHAP. XIX.— And it came to pass, 'that,' when Jesus had finished these sa'yings, he departed from Galilee, and came in'to the coasts of Jude'a beyond' Jo'rdan; 2 And grea't mul'titudes followed him; and he healed them there..

3 The Pharisees al'so came un'to him, tempt'ing him, and sa'ying un'to him, Is it la'wful for a man to put' awa'y his wife for every cause? 4 And he an'swered and said un'to them, Have ye not read, that he which made them' at the begin'ning, made them ma'le and female; 5 And said, For this cause shall a man le'ave fa'ther and moth'er, and shall cle'ave to his wife: and they twa'in shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twa'in, but one flesh. What therefore Go'd hath joined togeth'er, let not man put asun'der. 7 They say unto him, Why did Mo'ses then command' to give a writing of divo'rcement, and to put her awa'y? He saith un'to them, Mo'ses, beca'use of the ha'rdness of your hea'rts, suf'fered you to put awa'y your wives: but from the begin'ning it was not so. 9 And I say un'to you, Whosoever shall put awa'y his wife, except' 'it be' for fornica'tion, and shall marry anoth'er, commit'teth adultery; and wh'oso mar'rieth her which is put' awa'y doth commit' adultery.

10 His disci'ples say un'to him, If the case of the man be so with 'his' wife, it is not good' to marry. But he said un'to them, A'll 'men' can'not receive this sa'ying, save 'they' to whom it is given. 12 For there are some cu'nuchs, which were so bo'rn from their' moth'er's wo'mb; and

there are some eu'nuchs, which were made en'nuchs of men; and there be eu'nuchs, which have made themselves eu'nuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is a'ble to receive it,' let him receive ‘it.'

:

13 Then were there brought un'to him little children, that he should put' 'his' hands on them, and pray and the disciples rebu'ked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suf'fer little children, and forbid' them not, to come un'to me; for of such is the kingdom of heav'en. 15 And he la'id 'his' hands on them, and departed thence.

16 And, behold, one came and said un'to him, Good' Mas'ter, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eter'nal life? 17 And he said un'to him, Why callest thou me good'? 'there is none good but one, that is,' Go'd: but if thou wilt en'ter in'to life, ke'ep the command'ments. 18 He saith un'to him, Which? Je'sus said, Thou shalt do no mur'der, Thou shalt not commit' adultery, Thou shalt not ste'al, Thou shalt not bea'r false wit'ness, 19 Hon'our thy father and 'thy' moth'er; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself'. 20 The young man saith un'to him, A'll these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Je'sus said un'to him, If thou wilt be perfect, go 'and' sell that thou hast, and give to the po'or, and thou shalt have treasure in heav'en; and come and' follow me. 22 Bụt when the young man heard that sa'ying, he went awa'y sorrowful: for he had grea't possessions.

23 Then said Je'sus un'to his disci'ples, Ver'ily I say un'to you, That a rich man shall hardly en'ter in'to the kingdom of heav'en. 24 And again' I say un'to you, It is easier for a cam'el to go through the eye of a ne'edle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of Go'd. 25 When his disci'ples heard' it,' they were exceedingly ama'zed, sa'ying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Je'sus beheld' 'them,' and said unto them, With men this is impos'sible; but with Go'd all things are pos'sible.

27 Then an'swered Pe'ter, and said un'to him, Behoʻld, we have forsa'ken a'll, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 28 And Je'sus said un'to them, Verily I say un'to you, That ye which have followed me, in the regenera'tion, when the Son of man shall sit in the thro'ne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon' twelve thro'nes, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And every one that hath forsaken hou'ses, or breth'ren, or sis'ters, or father, or mother, or

wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hun'dred-fold, and shall inher'it everlasting life. 30 But man'y 'that are' first shall be last', and the last shall be' first.

CHAP. XX. For the kingdom of heaven is like un'to a man that is' an hous'eholder, which went out early in the morning to hire la'bourers in'to his vineyard. 2 And when he had agre'ed with the labourers for a pen'ny a day, he sent them in'to his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw oth'ers stan'ding i'dle in the ma'rket-place, And said unto them, Go ye also in'to the vin'eyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again' he went out about the sixth and ni'nth hour, and did lik'ewise. 6 And about' the eleventh hour he went out, and found oth'ers stan'ding i'dle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day i'dle? 7 They say unto him, Beca'use no man hath hi'red us. He saith unto them, Go ye also in'to the vin'eyard; and whatsoever is right, that' shall ye receive. So when even was come, the lo'rd of the vin'eyard saith un'to his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their' hire, begin'ning from the last' un'to the first. 9 And when they came that 'were hired' about' the eleventh hour, they received every man a pen'ny. 10 But when the first came they suppo'sed that they should' have received more; and they likewise received every man a pen'ny. And when they had received it,' they mur'mured against the good'man of the house, 12 Sa'ying, These last' have wrought 'but' one hour, and thou hast made them e'qual un'to us, which have bo'rne the bar'den and he'at of the day. 13 But he an'swered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a pen'ny? 14 Take that' thine 'is,' and go thy way I will give un'to this last' e'ven as un'to thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine o'wn? Is thine eye e'vil because I am good'? So the last shall be first, and the first last': for man'y be called, but few cho'sen.

7 And Jesus, go'ing up to Jeru'salem, took' the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said un'to them, 18 Beho'ld, we go up to Jeru'salem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed un'to the chief prie'sts, and un'to the scri'bes, and they shall condem'n him to death, 19 And shall deliv'er him to the Gen'tiles, to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him' and the third day he shall rise again'.
