A FEW years ago, the issue of a Key to the first two parts of my German Prose Composition seemed fully to suffice. Very few teachers went with their pupils beyond that portion of the book, which was also considered sufficient by those learners of German who were their own teachers. The study of German has, however, made such great progress in this country— even within the short space of time which has elapsed since the publication of the first portion of the present Key-that both teachers and learners now greatly feel the want of a complete translation of my Prose Composition.
