mities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit ilself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Col. i. 11. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness.

SECTION IX.

1 Pet. i. 2. Elect according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ : grace unto you and peace be multiplied. 2 Thess. ii. 13. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Rom. viii. 8, 9. 13. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 1 Cor. iii. 16, 17. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you! If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Cor. xv. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Ephes. iv. 1–7. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewitir ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling : one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of

us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Heb. x. 28, 29. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses : of how much sorer punishment suppose ye, shall be be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

SECTION X.

John xiv. 16, 17. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth ; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him : but ye know him: for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 2 Cor. i. 3, 4, 5. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all consolation. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble by the comfort, wherewith we ourselves are also comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ, 1 Pet. iv, 14. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. Rom. v. 3, 4, 5. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience experience; and experience hope: And hope maketh not ashamed ; because the love of God is sked abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given untu us. | Thess. v. 19, 20. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophecyings. Ephes. iv. 30. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

SECTION XI.

Ephes. v. 9. For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth. Gal. v. 22, 23. 25. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against. such there is no law. If we live in the Spirit let us also walk in the Spirit. Jude 20, 21. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Col. i. 9, 10, 11. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding ; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfuland the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Ephes. i. 7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. James iv. 6. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Tit. ii. 11. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared unto all men. 2 Pet. iii. 9. Not rendering evil for evil, railing for railing : but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are hereunto called that ye should inherit a blessing. Matt. vii. 7, 8. Ask, and it shall be given you ; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth ; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Ephes. iv. 7, 8. But unto every one of us is given grace ac. cording to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. John i, 16. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 1 Thess. ii. 13. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because when ye received the word of God, which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of man, but as it is in truth the word of God which effectually worketh also in them that believe. 2 Cor. vi. 1. We then as workers together with him beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. Heb. ii. 9. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every

SECTION XII.

Heb. iv. 16. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace; that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. John i. 17. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Rom. v. 21. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephes. i. 4. 6. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. To the praise of the glory of his grace,

wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephes. ii. 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God. Rom. v. 15. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God,

Jude 4. For there are certain nen crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemna. tion, ungodly men, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Heb. vi. 4, 5, 6. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance ; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Phil. ii. 12. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling

SECTION XIIl.

John i, 14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. 2 Cor. viii. 9. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Gal. vi. 18. Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. John i. 17. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Col. i. 5, 6. For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the Gospel; which is come unto you, as it is in all the world ; and bringeth forth fruit as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth. Tit. ii. 11. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared unto all men. 1 Pet. iii. 7. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Pet. v. 12. By Sylvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace. of God wherein ye stand. Rom. v. 2. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein ye stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Heb. 8. 29. (See above, Sect. IX.) 2 Cor. ix. 8. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you ; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work. 2 Cor. xii. 9. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
