NISIELI was the Academical name of BENEDETTO F10RETTI, born at Mercatale in the Province of Vernio 9 in the Diocese of Pistoja, on 18 Oct. 1579. He did not give his attention to literature till the age of 30. He died at Florence 30 June 1642. His Life was written by Francesco Cionnacci; and an Eloge of him is to be found in Erithræi Pinacotheca, P. II. n. XXXI. The Proginnasmi is a sort of Common-Place, Rhetorical, Poetical, and Critical, drawn from the Greek, Latin 9 and Tuscan Writers. 3. The name of ALDEANO was the Academical name of the Author, whose real name was NICCOLA VILLANI, of Pistoja; a learned Critic; and also a Poet. His Latin Satires are written with much elegance.
