I. LESSON. LESSON. Acts viii, 5. 9.—In those days: Philip going down to the city of Samaria, preached Christ to them. And the people with one accord were attentive to those things, which were said by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For many of them who had unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice went out. And many taken with the palsy, that were lame, were healed. And there was therefore great joy in that city.

GOSPEL. Luke ix. 1. 6.- -At that time: Jesus calling together the twelve apostles, he gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And he said to them. Take nothing for your journey, neither staff, nor scrip, nor bread, nor money, neither have two coats And whatsoever house you shall enter into, abide there, and depart not from thence.
