It is proper to remark, that this congregation contains comparatively little wealth: and that should our Churches according to their ability follow the example of this, there would be no lack of missionary funds for the support of all the competent missionaries that could be obtained. The following subscriptions have been made to the Board of Missions, in aid of a feeble Presbyterian Church in Oxford, North Carolina, viz. The committee have received from the Rev. David M'Kinney, of Erie, Pa. $10; from Messrs. Towar & Hogan, for the privilege of printing an edition of the Confession of Faith, $15; from the Fourth Church in Philadelphia, under the care of Rev. George C. Potts, $42.25, in addition to $8 before paid, making $50.25; from the Church under the care of Rev. George Chandler at Kensington, in addition to $6.50 before paid, $10, making $16.50; and from the Second Church, Philadelphia, from annual subscribers, $99.50; and $9.48, collected at the Monthly Concert in that Church; from Rev. Alexander Heberton's congregation, at Allentownship, Pa. $22; from Rev. Dr. Herron's Church, Pittsburg, Pa. $53; and from the Sixth Church in Philadelphia, under the care of Rev. J. H. Kennedy, $200, with the promise of $200 more from two individuals of that congregation. The Executive Committee have received $20, in addition to $4.50 before paid, from annual contributors in the Hart's Log Church, Huntingdon County, Pa.
