1. Describe the anatomy of the soft palate.

3. Describe the deep cervical fascia, and comment on its importance from the stand-point of applied anatomy.

4. Describe the external characters, position, and relations of the prostate gland.

5. Describe the collateral circulation after ligature of the common femoral artery.

6. Describe the nerve supply of the occipital part of the occipito-frontalis, the teres minor, the abductor indicis, the levator ani, the popliteus, and the tensor vaginæ femoris.

PATHOLOGY.

1. Comment on fatty degeneration of the heart, in reference to causation, general characters, microscopic appearances, varieties and results.

2. Describe minutely the changes which take place in an artery ligatured in continuity.

3. State the evidence in favour of the bacillary theory of tuberculosis.

4. Comment on the pathology of diphtheria.

5. How would you distinguish the following changes in lymphatic glands, (a) hypertrophy, (b) simple acute inflammation, (c) scrofulous inflammation, (d) lymphoma?

MATERIA MEDICA, MEDICAL BOTANY, AND ELEMENTARY THERAPEUTICS.

1. Give an account of the officinal group Alkaloidea, including their nature, properties and reactions, and general mode of preparation. Illustrate the latter by describing the preparation of Strychnine, and enumerate the officinal alkaloids, with the dose of each.

2. Classify the officinal drugs which act on the ends of motor, sensory, and secretory nerves; give their doses, and mention the therapeutic applications based on their action.

3. State the source, characters, chemical composition,

officinal preparations, actions, and uses of Aconite.

4. Name the officinal forms of Ethyl Alcohol, with their respective strengths. What are the chief physiological actions and therapeutic uses of alcohol?
