In presenting to the public a new edition of the "RELIGIO MEDICI," it will suffice to state as a reason for so doing, the simple fact, that every former edition is so corrupt, and so full of errata, as in many places to be utterly unintelligible. It would be impertinent to recommend a work, which has, for nearly two centuries, held so high a rank in English literature, and which has received the combined praise of an Addison and a Johnson. T.
