and against thee; pray unto the Lord that he take away the serpents from us :, and Mofes prayed for the people. And the Lord said unto Mofes, Make thee a fiery ferpent, and set it upon a pole : and it hall come to pass that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, Jhall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a ferpent bad bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived,

Get thee up into this, Mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to fanctify me at the water before their eyes. Ye shall give three cities on this fide Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge. These fix cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them ; that every one that killeth any person unawares may fice thither.

174 Luke ix. 28-35.-And it came to pass about an eight
days after these sayings, he took Peter, and John, and Fames, and went up into a mountain to pray. And as be praycd, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and bis raiment was white and glistering. And behold there talked with him two men, which were Mofes and Elias, who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease, which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter,
and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jefus, Master, it is good for us to be here ; and let us make three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Mofes and one for Elias : not knowing what he said. While he thus fpake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them : and they feared as they entered into the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, hear him.
