Thou shalt not go to law with any person. (m)

EXPLANATIONS.

(m) If any person has defrauded thee, or done thee any damage, thou shalt go unto him, and tell him thy case, and the amount of the damage, and if he refuse paying thee, thou shalt tell him if he will appoint one person thou wilt appoint another; and if they cannot settle it, they may appoint an umpire to decide it, and if he agree to this, thou shalt agree; but if he refuse this, thou may then use the laws of thy country.

Those who are full members, and obey not this Book, shall not meet with Israel till they do obey it.

EXPLANATIONS.

I require neither burnt-offerings nor sacrifices, but 1 delight in a broken and a contrite heart, and I will give him the earth for his footstool, and the heavens for his throne; for the light shall be his life.
