And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds. said, I saw in my vision by night, Dan. vii, 2. Daniel spake, and and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. stand up, his kingdom shall be Dan. xi, 4. Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud, And it is turned round about by his counsels; that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth. He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy. Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine? Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge. Job xxxviii, 9, 34, 37. When I made the cloud thereof, and thick darkness a the garment swaddling-band for it. Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? DEW. Gen. fl, 5, 6. And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. Gen. xxvii, 39. And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above. Num. xi, 9. And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it. Job xxxviil, 28. Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? Prov. iii, 20. THUNDER. 1 Sam. vii, 10. And as Samuel was offering up the burnt-offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and d sconfited them; and they were smitten before Israel. 1 Sam. xii, 17. Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and ne shall send thunder and rain. 2 Sam. xxii, 14. The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. Job xxxvii, 4, 5. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. THUNDER AND LIGHTNING. Exod. xix, 16. And it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the Camp trembled. Exod. xx, 18. And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and, when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. Job xxxvii, 1, 3, 4. At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place. He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. Joshua x, 11. A DESCRIPTION OF A Ps. xxix, 1-11. Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth; the LORD is upon many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn. The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire. The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory. The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people withi peace. HAIL. Exod. ix, 18. Behold, to-morrow about this time, I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now. | hail. Isa. xxviii, 2, 17. Behold, the Lord hath a mightyand strong one, which, as a tempest of hail, and mighty waters overflowing, shall a destroying storm, as a flood of cast down to the earth with the hand. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hidingplace. Isa. xxxii, 19.
