DEAR SIR-As it was not to perpetuate, but rather to terminate dissentions among Christians of different communions, by shewing them the effectual means, appointed by Christ, and employed by the Church at all times for this purpose, that the author wrote THE END OF RELIGIOUS CONTROVERSY; so it is not to gain the easy triumph of refuting the Bishop of St. David's GRAND SCHISM, and the Vicar of Templebodane's REPLY to the End of Controversy, that he is now induced to vindicate his work from their cavils.
