In answering a call to furnish some volumes for The School LIBRARY,' the author offers, first, the following revised edition of her · Lectures to Young Ladies, or Female Student.' Being intended as a reading book for the domestic circle, or family fireside, she has superadded the title of the · Fireside Friend.' The call for successive editions of this work, in America, and the fact of its having been reprinted and extensively circulated in England and Scotland, give the author a confidence, in again bringing it before that public, whom, not only with her pen,
but in active efforts in the cause of education, she has long served.
