Oscar Wilde Full name Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde. (1854 — 1900) A famous Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet. Oscar Wilde, one of the most unconventional authors in the late Victorian England, is best known for his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, several plays, as well as for his brilliant wit, flamboyant style and infamous imprisonment for homosexuality which led to early death.
