Attendances.

83. On an application for any officer to attend a foreign Court, or
as a witness, or to produce records or documents to be given
in evidence (in addition to the reasonable expenses of the
officer), for each day or part of a day he shall necessarily
be absent from his office, not exceeding two hours

all cases to revision by the Supreme Court.

RULE establishing a Table of Fees to be taken in the Supreme Court and all other British Consular Courts in China, Japan, and Corea.-March 13, 1899.

WHEREAS, under the provisions of Article 127 of "The China and Japan Order in Council, 1865,"* the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court may make rules for the purpose of fixing and enforcing the fees to be taken in respect of any proceedings in the Supreme Court or any other of Her Majesty's Courts in China and Japan; and whereas, under the provisions of Article 4 (3) of "The China, Japan, and Corea Order in Council, 1884,"t all powers exercised by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court at Shanghae, under the China and Japan Order in Council, are also exercisable in relation to Corea:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said provisions, I, Sir + Vol. LXXV, page 600.

Nicholas John Hannen, Knight, Chief Justice of Her Britannic Majesty's Supreme Court for China and Japan, hereby direct, with the approval of Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and with the sanction of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, that the Table hereto annexed of fees to be taken in Her Majesty's Courts in China, Japan, and Corea, shall be substituted, as regards all proceedings cominenced after the date of the publication of this Rule, for the Table of Fees annexed to the Rule of the Supreme Court, dated the 1st October, 1888, as amended by the Rule, dated the 24th February, 1898; and the fees specified in the Table hereby substituted shall henceforth be leviable accordingly.
